Researchers in the United States have discovered what they believe to be a body of liquid water locked inside the icy surface of Jupiter's moon Europa, according to the Nov. 16 issue of the journal Nature. "Europa has the best chance of having life there today," said Britney Schmidt, who studies the moon at the University of Texas. "The ‘lake' holds potential as a habitat for life, and there may be many more such lakes throughout the shallower regions of Europa's shell," said Schmidt. (AP)
