Darvish, Rangers agree to deal

Yu Darvish and the Texas Rangers reached a deadline deal Jan. 18. The two-time defending American League champion Rangers and the 25-year-old Darvish, who is considered Japan's best pitcher, came to an agreement on a $60 million (n4.6 billion yen), six-year deal just before the end of a 30-day negotiating window. Darvish had a 93-38 record with a 1.99 ERA the past seven seasons in Japan. (AP)
