New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin had surgery on his injured left knee, and posted a picture on Twitter of himself recovering in his hospital bed. The Knicks say Lin had successful surgery on a chronic small meniscal tear in his left knee.
Lin tweeted: "Praise God for a successful surgery ... road to recovery! Let's go. Much love to the fans for your support and kind words."
The procedure was performed by team orthopedist Dr. Answorth Allen at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Lin is expected to be out for about six weeks.
Lin became the starter in February and turned in a series of brilliant performances, kicking off a phenomenon that was called Linsanity. He is averaging 14.1 points and 6.1 assists. (AP)
