Cameron dives to ocean's depths

Hollywood icon James Cameron completed a journey March 26 to the deepest point on Earth. The director of the films Titanic and Avatar used a specially designed submarine to dive nearly 11 km. He spent time exploring and filming a section of the Mariana Trench some 300 km southwest of the Pacific island of Guam. Cameron returned to the surface of the Pacific Ocean after spending more than three hours under water after reaching a depth of 10,898 meters before beginning his return to the surface. (AP)
