ASDF didn't fire at Chinese military jets: Suga

Japan issued a strong protest Dec. 12 over claims that its fighter jets engaged in "dangerous and unprofessional" behavior when they were scrambled Dec. 10 in response to Chinese aircraft flying between Miyako Island and Okinawa's main island.

Chinese defense officials said the Air Self-Defense Force jets shot decoy projectiles at the Chinese jets. The Chinese jets did not violate Japanese airspace.
