As Japan marked six years from the massive earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011, that left more than 20,000 dead or missing and many more displaced, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe extolled the progress the country has made in reconstruction.
At a memorial ceremony in Tokyo, Abe said he is "overwhelmed even now with deep sorrow" at the thought of victims and their bereaved families.
But he also touted the headway the country has made, saying that "reconstruction is steadily making progress." (The Japan Times)
