Business sentiment among large manufacturers improved in September to the highest level in a decade as the economy got a boost from high global demand for electronic parts and automobiles, the Bank of Japan's quarterly Tankan survey showed Oct. 2.
The survey results support the BOJ's view that the economy is "expanding moderately," and that improving conditions will eventually lift wages and household spending to push inflation toward the central bank's 2 percent target.
