Hideki Matsuyama on June 2 won the Diamond Cup to earn his second JGTO victory since he turned pro in April. The 21-year-old student at Sendai's Tohoku Fukushi University held on to the overnight lead he shared with tour legend Tsuneyuki Nakajima with a final-round 71 to finish at 9-under-par 279. Since finishing 10th in his pro debut, Matsuyama has two runner-up finishes to go with his pair of victories.
