Pakistani teenager Malala Yousafzai, an outspoken proponent of girls' education who survived an assassination attempt last year, will be awarded the International Children's Peace Prize for her activism.
The Netherlands foundation awarding the prize hailed Malala as "a brave and talented child who has demonstrated special dedication to children's rights."
She will receive the award in The Hague on Sept. 6. (AP)
