In what is being called a major breakthrough in the fight against soccer corruption, 14 people were arrested in Singapore, including six linked to ongoing European investigations, Interpol said Sept. 19.
The global network's suspected mastermind was among the 14 people, all Singapore nationals, held after raids lasting 12 hours across Singapore.
The arrests are of "extraordinary" significance and took down "the world's largest match-fixing operation," said Interpol secretary general Ronald Noble. (AP)
