Suspected London Tube knifer had IS photos

A man who allegedly screamed "This is for Syria" as he slashed a passenger's neck in a London subway station Dec. 5 had images associated with the Islamic State group on his mobile phone, prosecutors said Dec. 7.

Prosecution lawyer David Cawthorne said 29-year-old Muhaydin Mire launched a "violent, sustained and unprovoked" attack on a 56-year-old man, beating him and slashing him in the neck. The victim required five hours of surgery on a 12-centimeter wound and is in stable condition. (AP)
