U.K. police: Women 'brainwashed' for decades

Three women were allegedly held for over 30 years in a south London home, chained by "invisible handcuffs," according to British police.

Police said Nov. 23 that the women -- a Malaysian, 69, an Irishwoman, 57, and a Briton, 30 -- may have been brainwashed. Two suspects are being held.

"We believe that two of the victims met the male suspect in London through a shared political ideology, and that they lived together at (what was effectively) a ‘collective,' " said police Commander Steve Rodhouse. (AP)
