The legend of a lost continent might be true, after all, according to a Japanese research agency. The Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology and the Brazilian government announced May 6 they had found a large mass of granite — which normally forms only on dry land — on the seabed off Rio de Janeiro, suggesting a continent may have existed in the Atlantic Ocean.
The finding came from an agency manned submersible. (Kyodo)
