Man sets himself on fire on shinkansen

A man died after setting fire to himself on a shinkansen bullet train June 30, and a woman in her 50s is also dead, local firefighters and police said.

Two other passengers were seriously injured after the incident, which occurred around 11:30 a.m. A witness said the man doused himself with oil and set fire to himself at the front end of the train, investigators said. (Kyodo)
