November snow in Tokyo for 1st time in 54 years

Snow fell in Tokyo in November for the first time in 54 years, disrupting traffic and causing power spikes from heating demand Nov. 24.
Injuries were reported in Tokyo and surrounding prefectures, with people slipping on snowy roads and suffering fractured bones, according to firefighters and other authorities.
Trains were delayed or suspended, railway operators said. Electricity consumption spiked to 95 percent capacity on early Nov. 24, according to Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc. (Kyodo)
