The U.S. online news site Huffington Post has launched a free Japanese language edition, its operating group and The Asahi Shimbun daily said May 7.
It features pieces written by about 70 people on a variety of issues and allows readers to post comments. "What sets HuffPost apart from conventional news sources is a commitment to fostering a positive exchange of ideas by users," said Shigeki Matsuura, editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post Japan.
