Britain’s Cameron to leave Parliament

Former Prime Minister David Cameron, who left Downing Street in July after British voters rejected his call to remain in the European Union, has decided to leave Parliament altogether.

Cameron, 49, won a general election in 2015, but his political fortunes shifted overnight when he lost the Brexit vote in June.

He stepped down as prime minister after the Brexit vote, intending to stay in Parliament. But in an announcement that signaled the end of his political career, he said Sept. 12 he will leave Parliament altogether. (AP)
