North Korean leader Kim Jong Un underwent surgery in Pyongyang in mid-September to treat ankle fractures and is in hospital, a Seoul daily reported Sept. 30.
The Chosun Ilbo quoted a source who recently visited the North as saying, “I heard that Kim Jong Un injured his right ankle in June after pushing ahead with onsite visits and ended up fracturing both ankles because he left the injury unattended.”
