Vol. 10 : Where to spend one's honeymoon at

James: Hiromi, over here! Glad you could make it.

Hiromi: No sweat. I was gonna eat out today anyway. Wow, haven't seen you for ages. I mean, when I first got your e-mail I was, like, (1) is this really the James I know, or some spam that sounds like him? So, how've you been?

James: Been doing well. And you look great by the way... Actually, (2) I have an announcement to make. (3) Want to hear it now or after dinner?

Hiromi: Let me hear it now! What's the news?

James: Well, I'm getting married to Kyoko.

Hiromi: Really?! That's great! Congratulations! I am so happy for you. So when is the wedding?

James: This winter. We weren't sure whether we should do the wedding in Japan or not but eventually (4) we decided to invite my parents to Japan and have one of those traditional Japanese-style weddings in Tokyo. I'm still trying to decide what to do for our honeymoon though.

Hiromi: Is that so? What are the choices?

James: Well, we've got plan A, which would be a week's stay in Australia. (5) I've heard that it's a brilliant place to go to for scuba diving and there's plenty of nature and wildlife to enjoy too, so I'm definitely sure we'll have a great time there. Or we'll take plan B and visit Miami. Kyoko's never seen my hometown.

Hiromi: Hmm, Australia sounds nice, since it's warm down there, but (6) I think going to Miami would be a great opportunity to show her around where you grew up and introduce her to your friends.

James: Yeah, I thought so too. But a part of me is feeling, well, do I really want to spend my honeymoon in my hometown? I mean, I think I've had enough of that place and it lacks the excitement of Australia, don't you think?

Hiromi: Speaking of excitement, next year's Super Bowl is in Miami, right?

James: You're right! That's it! Go and watch the Super Bowl! That would be a great way to spice up the trip!

Hiromi: Yeah right, like you can walk to the nearest (7) "conbeni" or drugstore and buy a Super Bowl ticket...

James: There's still hope. I know a few people that might be able to help me out with this. If I tell them it's for my honeymoon (8) I think they could work something out. I'll call them first thing tomorrow morning. Great idea, Hiromi!

Hiromi: Um, yeah, but I think you should ask Kyoko about this when you get home. Anyway, congratulations on your marriage and I hope you have a great honeymoon, wherever you go...

James: Thanks. Shall we order now?
