3月7日、アイルランドでは、中絶規制強化のための政府案が国民投票によって小差で否決されました。国民の95％がカトリック教徒のこの国では、離婚が合法化されたのはわずか7年前、自由に避妊具を購入できるようになったのも80年代に入ってからで、中絶は現在でも基本的に憲法で禁じられています。
