English labeling will come to selected prepared foods at Japan's 7-Eleven convenience stores, according to operator Seven & I Holdings.
Seven-Eleven Japan President Kazuki Furuya said Dec. 28 that the measure is in response to requests from foreign tourists, whose numbers have been soaring and are expected to rise further ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.
Onigiri (rice balls) and other prepared foods will carry names in both Japanese and English from this year. (Kyodo)
