Parents filed an administrative lawsuit June 25 seeking an injunction of a new rule at Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture, that forces children out of day care if their mother gives birth to a sibling.
The rule requires children aged up to 2 to leave city-run day care centers within two months of a sibling's birth to be cared for at home. Many parents fear children who leave a facility can't go back to the same facility. The rule was changed to allow for this, but many say the basic problem remains. (Kyodo)
