An Australian couple has denied leaving their son born with Down syndrome with a Thai surrogate.
David and Wendy Farnell said in a televised 60 Minutes interview Aug. 10 that the boy’s surrogate mother, Pattaramon Chanbua, insisted on keeping the boy and that she threatened to also keep his twin sister.
Pattaramon has accused the Farnells of leaving her with the infant boy, while taking his healthy twin back to Australia.
The case has focused attention on Thailand’s largely unregulated surrogacy industry. (AP)
