Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte apologized to Jews worldwide Oct. 2 after he drew comparisons between his bloody anti-drug war and the Holocaust.
In a Sept. 30 speech, Duterte said his critics portrayed him as "a cousin of Hitler." Moments later, he said, "Hitler massacred 3 million Jews ... there's 3 million drug addicts. There are. I'd be happy to slaughter them." Historians say 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust.
After international criticism, Duterte apologized "deeply to the Jewish community." (AP)
