All 71 pilots who operate TransAsia Airlines’ ATR propeller jets began proficiency tests Feb. 7, three days after one of the's ATRs crashed into a river, killing at least 42 people.
The airline said it had canceled 90 flights over the next three days tothe requirement by Taiwan’s that the ATR pilots be re-tested.
Preliminary investigations indicate the pilots of the doomed ATR 72 flight shut off a running engine, a move aviation experts say was a mistake. (AP)
