Sharp eyes quick close to Hon Hai takeover deal

Sharp Corp. said Feb. 29 it hopes to finalize a takeover deal with Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. "as soon as practically possible," hoping to overcome a surprise delay.
Days earlier, Sharp had accepted a deal for the Taiwan company to take over the Osaka-based firm, only for Hon Hai to delay the signing within hours.
Heads of the two companies met in China on Feb. 26 to discuss the deal. (Kyodo)
