Two men, three kids swept to sea in Niigata

Five people including three children died after being swept out to sea May 4 from a beach in Joetsu, Niigata Prefecture, local police said.
Two adults who tried to rescue the children were also swept away, witnesses said.
The five were Yuichi Hirata, 38, of Nagano Prefecture; his daughter Kureha, 6, and his nephews, ages 6 and 9; and Mitsuru Nagayama, 27, police said. (Kyodo)
