Body of 13-year-old stabbing victim found

Police were investigating Feb. 21 the murder of a 13-year-old boy after his naked body was found with stab wounds beside a river in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture.

The body of Ryota Uemura, who was a first-year student at a nearby junior high school, was found at 6:15 a.m. Feb. 20 by a passer-by on a bank along the Tama River, near an area of the city where there are several factories and apartment buildings.

Prefectural police are treating the case as murder and have set up an investigative team. (Kyodo)

川崎市川崎区の多摩川の河川敷で、同区の市立中学１年生、上村遼太さん（13）の遺体が見つかった。遺体には多数の刺し傷があり、警察は殺人事件として調べている。
