U.S. President Donald Trump's criticism of National Football League players who kneel during the national anthem spurred about 200 players to protest Sept. 24.
Trump said on Twitter that players kneeling during the anthem "don't respect the American flag or the anthem."
In response, about 200 players protested during the anthem. Until Trump's remarks, few NFL players protested during the anthem. The protests had been a way to draw attention to police treatment of minorities. (AP)
