Fake bomb threats that led to the evacuations Dec. 16 of four buildings on Harvard University's campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, were made by a student trying to get out of taking a final exam, federal prosecutors said Dec. 18.
The student, 20-year-old Eldo Kim, sent emails to various authorities saying bombs had been placed around campus, according to a criminal complaint filed by the U.S. attorney's office.
The buildings were shut down for hours, disrupting final exams. No explosives were found. (AP)
