科学者たちがピンのアタマに聖書一冊を「執筆」

イスラエルの大学で、ナノテクノロジーを使ってピンの頭に収まる大きさの聖書が作られました。
Scientists from Israel have written the whole of the Jewish Bible in Hebrew onto a space that is smaller than half a grain of sugar.
The Jewish Bible is also known as the Old Testament.
The size of the Bible is less than 0.5 square millimeters. It was inscribed onto a piece of silicon that was covered in gold. The scientists did this in about an hour. The Bible has 308,428 words.
The scientists inscribed the Bible by blasting particles at the piece of silicon. These particles were gallium ions.
The Bible is the world's smallest Bible.
The second-smallest Bible is 2.8 centimeters by 3.4 centimeters by 1 centimeter. It is 11.75 grams and it is 1,514 pages long.
The scientists work in an area called nanotechnology. Part of nanotechnology is the study of how to store a lot of information in very small spaces. (AP)
