Doctors perform first zero-gravity operation
|
|
A team of French doctors performed the first operation on a human being in zero-gravity conditions Sept. 27. They removed a cyst from the arm of a man as the aircraft flew up and dove down to create a state of weightlessness. The operation is part of research into surgeons or robots performing surgery in space. The operation took just over eight minutes — about the same time it would have taken in a hospital. (AP)
