Former Russian spy allegedly poisoned
|
|
A former Russian spy and fierce Kremlin critic is fighting for his life in a London hospital. Sources said Nov. 21 that he may have been poisoned. The poison, which was possibly a radioactive substance, has caused Col. Alexander Litvinenko's hair to fall out and damaged his immune and nervous systems. Friends and dissidents allege that the Russian government is behind the poisoning. Litvinenko had been investigating Moscow's possible role in the murder of journalist Anna Politkovskaya when he fell ill. (AP)
