Award-winning Australian journalist Ben Hills refused Feb. 14 to bow to Japan's demands to apologize for "Princess Masako: Prisoner of the Chrysanthemum Throne" — his book on the suffering of the crown princess. The government says the book was "disrespectful" and a "distortion of facts." Hills said, "There is only one person in this saga that deserves an apology and that's Princess Masako. I think the Kunaicho should apologize to her for bullying her into a state of nervous breakdown." (Kyodo)
