Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara said Dec. 11 that he would agree to Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda's request to hand over ¥300 billion in tax revenues. The money would go to help rural areas that are in financial trouble.

"The demand is really outrageous," Ishihara said. (Kyodo)
