Kansas devastated by huge tornado
|
|
A tornado ripped through the tiny farming community of Greensburg, Kan., on May 5, killing 10 and injuring at least 50 people. Around 90 percent of Greensburg, a town of about 1,600 people, was severely damaged or destroyed by winds of 265 kilometers-per hour. Debate now rages on whether deployment of soldiers and equipment to Iraq has left state National Guards unable to handle local disasters. (AP)
