In a gut-busting showdown that combined drama and indigestion, American Joey Chestnut became the world's hot-dog eating champion July 4, beating six-time winner Takeru Kobayashi in a record-setting triumph. Chestnut broke his own world record by inhaling 66 hot dogs in 12 minutes — one every 10.9 seconds. Kobayashi finished with a strong 63, despite a sore jaw from having a wisdom tooth taken out. (AP)
