Railway tracks sabotaged in France

France's transport strike continued for its eighth day Nov. 21
But as talks between unions and the government began, vandals made coordinated attacks on France's high-speed train network. Railway tracks were set on fire and burning rags were put in signal boxes. The unions said they did not do this
The workers are angry at President Nicolas Sarkozy's plans to reduce their retirement benefits. (AP)
