Booger is back: five puppies cloned
|
|
An American woman received five puppies Aug. 5 that were cloned from her beloved pitbull Booger, who died from cancer in 2006.
Bernann McKinney is the first customer of South Korean company RNL Bio, the world's first successful commercial canine cloning service. The company worked with scientists from Seoul National University.
McKinney paid $50,000 (¥5.4 million) for the cloned Boogers. This is a third of the usual price because McKinney was the first customer and helped with publicity.
The surrogate mothers of the puppies were mixed-breed Korean dogs. (AP)
