Judge OKs pet poisoning settlement

A U.S. judge approved a $24 million (¥2.4 billion) settlement for owners of dogs and cats that were sickened or died after eating pet food that included a Chinese-made ingredient contaminated with an industrial chemical. The money will compensate owners for expenses including food, medical and burial expenses. More than 1,500 animals died after eating the food last year. (AP)
