Four women rescued from sea

Four women were rescued Sept. 23 from the sea off Ishigaki, Okinawa Prefecture, after drifting for 16 hours, rescue workers said. The four women from Ishigaki aged between 21 and 35 were swept away while snorkeling at around 4 p.m. Sept. 22 and survived by clinging to pieces of polystyrene foam. They were spotted around 8:20 a.m. Sept. 23 about 200 meters off the coast by a person walking along the seashore, the rescue workers said. (Kyodo News)
16時間漂流の女性4人が救助
沖縄県石垣島の海で16時間以上も漂流していた女性4人が、9月23日の午前9時ごろに無事救助された。
