Protests grow over slain U.S. teen
|
|
African-American community churches around the U.S. on March 25 amplified the cries for justice in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
The black teen was shot as he walked home on a rainy night in a gated Florida community. The neighborhood watch volunteer who shot him, 28-year-old George Zimmerman, is the son of a white father and Hispanic mother, and the demands to charge him in Martin's slaying have grown louder.
Rallies have been held across the U.S. over the shooting of 17-year-old Martin.
His father said March 25 that he and his family have been overwhelmed by sports stars such as Dwyane Wade and LeBron James speaking out about the case. (AP)
