A defensive player for the Nihon University Phoenix has been suspended indefinitely pending a final review for dangerous play in a May 6 football game in Tokyo.
During an exhibition match against Kwansei Gakuin Univer-sity, the player made three personal fouls, including a late tackle on the quarterback, who had passed the ball at least two seconds earlier. The quarterback left the field with a knee injury. The Phoenix player was sent off after the third foul. A disciplinary committee will decide on the official punishment. (The Japan Times)
