Japan-born novelist Kazuo Ishiguro was among the people named in Queen Elizabeth's annual birthday honors list on June 9.
Ishiguro, who won the Nobel Prize for literature in 2017, received a knighthood for his services to literature.
Ishiguro won Britain's Man Booker Prize in 1989 for The Remains of the Day.
"I'm deeply touched to receive this honour from the nation that welcomed me as a small foreign boy, that educated me and nurtured me," he said in a statement on Facebook. (Reuters)
