Poisonous mushrooms mistakenly sold at a highway rest area in Takashima, Shiga Prefecture, have caused food poisoning to at least two people, the Shiga Prefectural Government said Sept. 21.
The vendor of the poisonous tsukiyotake mushrooms mistook them for the edible hiratake, ac-cording to Shiga public health officials.
The mushrooms were sold Sept. 20 at a highway rest area in Takashima. So far, two people who bought the packages have reported stomachaches, the prefecture said. (Kyodo)
