The Bank of Japan upgraded its assessment April 13 of three of the country's nine regional economies, and said the overall domestic economy is recovering moderately amid the fading adverse impact of a consumption tax hike in April last year.
The BOJ raised its view of the Hokuriku, Tokai and Kinki regional economies from the previous report in January due to improvements in production and employment.
A BOJ official said employment and income conditions continue "to improve steadily." (Kyodo)
