Japan shocked by series of stabbings

A woman went on a stabbing rampage at a crowded train station in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, on July 28, wounding six men after failing to slash her own wrist.
She said she was angry and frustrated at her father.
On July 29, an 18-year-old man seriously injured his former teacher after stabbing him in front of 50 other students at a school in Chiryu, Aichi Prefecture.
The man said he had a grudge against the teacher.
On July 27, police arrested a 20-year-old man for randomly stabbing a 53-year-old man in a park in Nayoro, Hokkaido. (Kyodo News)
