Nuclear giant Areva to post large loss

France's state-controlled nuclear engineering giant Areva said Dec. 12 it will post a massive full-year loss in 2011 because it had to set aside more than 2 billion euros (200 billion yen) to deal with the impacts of a troubled mining project in Namibia and Japan's Fukushima nuclear disaster in March. Areva said it expects to make an operating loss of between 1.4 billion euros (140 billion yen) and 1.6 billion euros (160 billion yen) this year, compared to a profit of 883 million euros (90 billion yen) in 2010. 仏原子力大手アレバ、多額の損失を計上
原子力大手の仏アレバは、福島第一原発事故などの影響を受けて、2011年の最終損失が最大で16億ユーロに上る見通しであることを明らかにした。
