Megan Meier was a 13-year-old girl who lived in the United States. She made a friend on MySpace, which is a social networking site. His name was Josh, and he was a cute teenage boy. Josh and Megan wrote to each other often.
But then suddenly Josh became nasty. He sent her cruel messages. Megan hanged herself.
Later, Megan's parents found out that Josh did not exist. It was a woman living nearby who was pretending to be a teenage boy. That woman wanted to find out what Megan thought about her own daughter. (AP)
