Fans flock to buy new Beatles CDs

Fans of The Beatles rushed to music shops Sept. 9 to purchase digitally remastered CDs of the legendary rock band's 14 albums. At a major music store in Tokyo's Ginza district, some 150 people gathered to mark the worldwide release of the albums Sept. 8, around midnight. According to EMI Music Japan, stereo versions of four early Beatles albums, including "Please Please Me" and "A Hard Day's Night," have been made into CDs for the first time. The entire 14-CD boxed set retails for ¥35,800. (Kyodo News)
